Bio
As a former soldier in the US Infantry, I saw many wooden pieces made in foreign countries. I also interacted with many of the Dogon cults of Lebe, Binou, Mono, and Twin. These individuals have been actively using the same wooden pieces for their religious ceremonies for thousands of years. Some pieces have been used since before the rise of the Greek empire.
While the Dogon pieces are used primarily for worship, I incorporate their impressions into functional pieces of everyday life. From pens to individualized tables and desks, my pieces are meant to show the native touch of a religious devotion to the many woods I work with.
